Fabio Fognini, Dominic Stricker, Arthur Rinderknech and all the other players have made their way to Zug at the weekend.
Top seed Arthur Rinderknech (FRA, ATP 82) has already spent a few days in central Switzerland following his early exit from the ATP 250 tournament in Gstaad. The Italian Fognini - winner of 9 ATP tournaments, including Monte Carlo 2019 - travelled here today, Sunday. He has already completed a training session on the tournament course at Tennisclub Zug. The 20-year-old Dominic Stricker from Bern was the last of the top players to arrive. And with good reason: a few hours ago, he won the doubles title in Gstaad alongside three-time Grand Slam winner Stan Wawrinka.
At the Players Night at Fischerstube Bar in Zug's old town, the tournament organisers invited the players to a cosy sundowner. The Zug backdrop with the sun setting on the lake did its best. Fognini was one of the players who particularly enjoyed Lake Zug. The Italian is looking forward to the tournament week: "I hope that the people in Zug can enjoy my tennis this week."
