Henry Bernet, Dominic Stricker and Marc-Andrea Hüsler at the Dialectic Zug Open 2025

The entry list for the Dialectic Zug Open (ATP Challenger 125) from 20-27 July 2025 has been announced. In addition to Bernet, the winner of the Australian Open Juniors 2025, Stricker, Hüsler and Alexander Ritschard, two other Swiss players will make it into the main draw. Like Bernet, Mika Brunold and Kilian Feldbausch will receive a wild card. Argentina is also strongly represented with five players. The top seed is Hungarian Zsombor Piros (ATP 160).

As a reigning juniors' Grand Slam winner, 18-year-old Henry Bernet from Basel will be playing at Tennisclub Zug. After his triumph in Australia at the end of January, he reached number 1 in the junior world rankings - something that, from a Swiss perspective, only Martina Hingis, Belinda Bencic and Roger Federer had achieved before him. However, a persistent rib injury brought Bernet's high-flying career to an abrupt halt. He only made his comeback at the ITF tournament in Klosters in mid-June. A year ago, Bernet had made his first big mark on the professional tennis tour. He reached the quarter-finals of the Zug Open 2024 after defeating Ryan Nijboer (NED) and Juan Pablo Varillas (PER) - the latter a Roland Garros round of 16 finalist in 2023.

Strong Swiss group

Dominic Stricker (ATP 238), formerly ranked 88th in the ATP world rankings, has had a challenging few months. Having temporarily slipped out of the top 300, he fought his way back onto the big tennis stages on the ITF and Challenger Tour. He showed an upward trend on grass and only just missed out on qualifying for the Grand Slam main draw at Wimbledon. He is also putting in a strong performance in Gstaad at the moment.

Marc-Andrea Hüsler (ATP 167) from Zurich, the last Swiss winner on the ATP Tour (Sofia 2022), won his fifth Challenger title overall in Cuernavaca (MEX) in March. He reached the round of 16 in Zug in 2022 (l. Rodriguez Taverna/ARG) and a semi-final last year (l. Roman Burruchaga/ARG). Alexander Ritschard (ATP 188), Mika Brunold (ATP 304) and Kilian Feldbausch (ATP 443) complete the Swiss squad. Jeffrey von der Schulenburg and Flynn Thomas receive a wildcard for the qualifying round.

Five Argentinians and a top-seeded Hungarian

The 25-year-old top-seeded Hungarian Zsombor Piros (ATP 160) made a big leap forward in the ATP rankings in the spring thanks to his Challenger titles nos. 6 and 7 in Ostrava/CZE and Tunis/TUN. Another title contender is Federico Agustin Gomez from Argentina (ATP 161). He leads a veritable armada of five players from the country of the reigning football world champions: Santiago Rodriguez Taverna (ATP 191), Facundo Diaz Acosta (ATP 199), Andrea Collarini (ATP 225) and Facundo Mena (ATP 254). Frenchmen Hemery Calvin (ATP 178) and Harold Mayot (ATP 184) will be flying the colours of the ‘Grande Nation’.

Night session tennis and a varied supporting programme

For this year's tournament, the Centre Court in Zug will feature a further extension: The south stand behind the baseline, which was newly built in 2024, is now covered like the main stand. The total capacity remains at just under 1,000 spectators.

From Monday 21 July to Saturday 26 July, the Night Session matches are scheduled to start at 20:00. The diverse entry list and the expanded infrastructure promise an exciting tournament week at the Zug Open 2025. Co-Tournament Director Gaston Della Casa is delighted: "We want to consolidate the status of the Dialectic Zug Open as a summer ATP boutique tournament again this year: top tennis, stars you can touch, relaxed summer vibes and electrifying night sessions as well as enjoyment at all levels. The elegance of tennis and an aperitif culture with buzzing DJ beats come together at the Tennisclub Zug."

To kick off the tournament on the qualifying Sunday, 20 July, sports-loving kids from the region will train with the ATP pros on Kids & Family Day powered by Glencore.
Children and young people up to the age of 18 will receive a free ticket for the ZugerKB Junior Days from Monday, 21 July to Thursday, 24 July on presentation of ID at the box office by 16:00. The offer is valid while stocks last.
There will be a meet & greet with EVZ player Sven Senteler on Tuesday evening, 22 July, as part of the ZugerKB Family Day. On this day, accompanying adults (parents, godparents, aunts/uncles, grandparents) are also invited to attend the Zug Open together with the children. Free tickets for the ZugerKB Family Day can be reserved in advance: www.zugopen.ch/zuger-kb

Before the final match on Sunday, 27 July, a wheelchair tennis showmatch will take place on Centre Court.

The Central Switzerland TV channel Tele 1 will broadcast the night session matches and other matches in the afternoon, the semi-finals and the final live every day.
