Dialectic Zug Open

The Dialectic Zug Open is the fourth largest ATP professional tournament in Switzerland after Basel (ATP 500), Geneva and Gstaad (both ATP 250) and the only one in the greater Zurich area and Central Switzerland. The summer ATP boutique tournament combines the elegance of tennis with pulsating DJ beats, an aperitif culture, enjoyment on all levels and plenty of entertainment. The Dialectic Zug Open (clay court) took place for the fourth time in July 2025 at the Tennisclub Zug. Lukas Klein (SVK) won his second title within a week after his previous triumph in San Marino. He defeated France's Harold Mayot in three hard-fought sets, 6-2, 6-7, 6-4. On his way to the Zug Open title, Klein also eliminated Henry Bernet (SUI) in the round of 16. The 18-year-old reigning Australian Open junior champion lost in three sets.
With Ernests Gulbis (LAT) and Fabio Fognini (ITA), two former ATP top ten players took part in Zug in 2022 and 2023.

ATP Challenger Tour

Founded in 1978, the ATP Challenger Tour is a series of international professional tennis tournaments for men. They form the substructure of the ATP Tour, while they have higher prize money than the tournaments of the ITF Future Tour, where tennis players usually start their careers. The Challenger Tour is primarily used by players outside the top 100 of the world rankings to collect enough ranking points to participate in tournaments on the ATP Tour and the Grand Slams. Roger Federer, Rafael Nadal and Novak Djokovic also earned ATP points in this way before becoming figureheads and legends of the sport. Carlos Alcaraz was still playing Challenger tournaments in 2021 before winning his first ATP title in the same year, and the US Open title in 2022 made him the youngest ATP World No. 1 of all time. In 2024, 207 ATP challenger tour events were held in 46 countries in front of 940,000 spectators, with prize money totalling $22.3 million.
